Clifton Wayne Clifton passed from this life on December 27th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Wayne was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma on September 28th, 1945 his parents were Junior and Georgia Blankenship and father Barney Clifton. Wayne was a lifelong resident of Sasakwa, OK and graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Jackie Ward, on June 20th, 1966 and had three children. Wayne proudly served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. After being discharged from the Army he worked in the oilfields in Oklahoma as a driller. Wayne was a roughneck through and through by the way he walked, talked and hollered “Jackie”. Wayne is survived by his bride Jackie of the home, his son Billy Clifton and wife Carla of Sallisaw, OK, one daughter Venita Clifton of Sasakwa, and son Richard Clifton and his wife Deanna of Shawnee. He was lovingly called Grandpa and Poppy Wayne by Brittany and Austin, Dillon and Alyssa, Marissa, Malinda, Tyler, Misty and Brent, Jacklyn and Jaden. Wayne was a great grandpa to Ayden, Bentley, Corbyn, Jaia, Abigail, Melody, Gunner, Kennedy, and Riley. He took immense pride in being a devoted father and grandfather leaving behind countless cherished memories.
