Richard John Hennen formerly of Seminole, Oklahoma, entered Heaven on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Okemah, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years.

Richard was born on July 24, 1931, in Aurora, Illinois. He was the only son of John and Marie Hennen. He was raised in the Chicago area until he joined the United States Air Force in 1949. He was stationed in Georgia when he met Jackie Hurst and they were married on October 14, 1952, and they enjoyed 72 years of marriage.

Following his discharge, they moved to Oklahoma and Kansas, where He worked for Long Bell Lumber Company as manager. They later moved to Seminole and He began working at Tinker Airforce Base for 25 years until his retirement. Richerd never had only one job at a time and could be seen all over Seminole working parttime jobs. He served as Commander of the Local American Legion Post and was a long-time member of Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole. Richard enjoyed softball, bowling, and playing bingo.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Vieux; and his mother-in-law, Gladys Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Okemah, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cindy Crider and husband Steve of McAlester, Oklahoma; two sons, Mitchell Hennen and wife Tamra of Eufaula, Oklahoma, and Rex Hennen and wife Caryl of Shawnee, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was well remembered for his hard work and never-ending love and loyalty he gave to everyone who was privileged to know him.

The family would like to thank the Colonial Park Manor of Okemah for their love and dedication to Richard as well as the staff of Traditions Hospice.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea and Owens Funeral Group, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
