Patsy Jean Berry, 93, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at her home in Seminole. Patsy was born on August 16, 1931 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Ruby Jewel (Moore) Griffith and Homer William Griffith. Her parents and grandparents moved to Seminole when she was 2 years old where Patsy grew up and graduated from Seminole High School in 1948. After graduation Patsy furthered her education to become a Legal Stenographer and Court Reporter. She attended secretarial school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and served as a court reporter for the Seminole County Courthouse for several years.

Patsy was a good mother and homemaker, and was a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma. She loved arts and crafts, painting and ceramics.

Patsy married Bob D. Berry on December 19, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Bob Berry of the home, two sons Christopher William Berry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Robert Franklin Berry of Burnet, Texas, one daughter Tamara Robertson of Wimberley, Texas, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Ruby and Homer Griffith, a daughter Paula Russel and her brother Bobby Griffith.

There will be a viewing on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., and following the viewing there will be a reception at the Funeral Home, to allow her friends of the community to honor Patsy and visit with the family. Following the reception there will be a short memorial service in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doyle O. Long officiating.

A formal Funeral Service will be held at the Bethesda Church of God at 201 South 15th Street in Duncan, Oklahoma at 1:00 P.M., Saturday August 24, 2024, with burial following at the Duncan City Cemetery in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
