Mildred Polly Morris

Morris Mildred Polly Morris, former Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on March 2, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born October 14, 1924 in Pontotoc, Mississippi top William Oscar and Mary Ann Westmoreland. In the early 1930’s she moved to Tyronza, Arkansas. She married James Luther Morris in Tyronza in 1941. She and Luther later moved to Seminole. They were married for 55 years before his death on October 11, 1996.

Polly loved her family above everything else. In her early years she played basketball in school. She was a volunteer as a Pink Lady at Seminole hospital for many years. She enjoyed cooking and traveling to Vegas. She was of the Baptist faith.

Polly is survived by her son Bill Morris and her daughter Lynn Stephens, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son James Luther Morris, Jr., five brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services for Polly will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
