    Former Seminole County resident Mary M. (Grisham) Hunter, 86, of Jewell Manor, Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 15, 2025.

    She was born in Oklahoma City on March 14, 1939, to the late James and Mollie (Climer) Grisham.

    She graduated in from New Lima High School and moved to New York soon after.

    Mary was a longtime volunteer for Teen Challenge and participated with the teens in Bible Study.

    She belonged to several churches and was part of the Sunday night prayer group.

    She volunteered for the Food Bank of CNY and Vivian Teal Nursing Home.

    She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Robert Donald Hunter, on Oct. 25, 2023, and her daughter, Lorene Brothers.

    She was also preceded by all seven of her siblings: Clifford and Houston Grisham of Seminole County; Fred and Kenneth Grisham, Lorene Joyce, Shirley Trimarchi and Hunter

    Linda Jones, all of Oklahoma City. Surviving are her children, Richard A. (Karen) Hunter, Darlene (LeRoy) Hlebowicz and Mollie Karle; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

    Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 23, from 2 to 4 pm at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.

    Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday March 24 at the funeral home, followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.
