Bryant James Randolph Bryant passed from this beautiful world to go with the Lord on the 16th day of July, 2024.His passing was quick, unexpected and was during a rest with his head on his wife’s lap. He was born September 22, 1969 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Lester Bryant and Janice (Carter) Bryant.

James attended Cromwell school and in Baton Rouge, LA. He returned to Wewoka, OK where he excelled in many different sports including track, football, high jumping and poll vaulting. James graduated in 1987 and met his wife, Kristy, who were married two years later. James and his wife had two beautiful children, Dannielle and Bronc, who he was extremely proud of.

He began working with Correctional Corporation of America and rose in the ranks very quickly earning promotions from Holdenville to Cushing and then Watonga at a rapid pace as he excelled in communication and leadership. He retired as a Chief of Security from the prison system after 17 years of service.

James was a people person. He loved everyone no matter their ethnicity or their station in life and rarely ever forgot a face. He was beloved by hundreds of friends who will miss him dearly. He had a ready smile, laugh and believed in loyalty, integrity and commitment. He enjoyed life and was always ready to work hard, play golf, shoot billiards, hunting, noodling, box and watch Gunsmoke. He met many varieties of individuals of different interest and supported many different organizations. He really loved to hang out with his wife, family and especially his grandchildren. Upon death of James, he was preparing to spend an anniversary vacation with his wife of 35 years in New Orleans the next day.

James was preceded in death by his grandfather, Andrew Carter of Holdenville; his father, Lester Bryant of Wewoka; and a niece Bridget Alexis Bryant.

James is survived by his wife Kristy Bryant of Seminole, OK; daughter, Dannielle Thompson and husband Adam of Watonga; son, Bronc James Monroe Bryant of Wewoka; mother, Janice Bryant of Wewoka; grandmother, Dorothy Carter of Holdenville; grandchildren, Zessilliei and Uriijah of Wewoka, Vincent, Lily and Valour of Watonga; younger brother, Steven Bryant and wife Carlye Bryant of Wewoka; a very close uncle of the same age, Tony Carter and wife Laura of Newalla; along with many more aunts, uncles, and countless nephews, all who were equally loved.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating. Interment to follow at Yeager Cemetery in Yeager, OK.

Pallbearers: Robert Merriman, George White, Sonny Paul, Travis Wilson, Mike Gamble, Marcus Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearers: Zack Hale, Eric Johnson, Adam Thompson, Carter Bryant, Marlon Simpson, Rusty Ashmore, Ike Washington, Jeremy Johnson, Ike Warrior, Tyrone Washington.
