Hilde Groves

On June 19th, Hilde Groves passed away at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at 92 years of age. Born and raised in Germany, Hilde came to the United States in 1953 with her husband, Edward.

Having been born in Rodach bei Coburg, Bavaria, Germany, Hilde met her husband Edward while he was serving in the US Army, and she worked for the USO. They married in Germany and came to the United States, where they eventually settled in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Hilde had a successful career, starting out as a medical records clerk - through education and effort - became the Director of Medical Records and created a successful quality assurance program for Muhlenberg Hospital. Hilde also contributed to her community as a member and, eventually, President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Plainfield Rescue Squad.

Hilde was blessed with not only her immediate family, but a wonderful extended family. Hilde was a loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in-law and stepmother.

Hilde is survived by her 4 children: Charles, Thomas, Michael, and Kate, and 2 sisters, Waldraut and Renate.

Mom was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day.
