Dorothy Carter
Dorothy Lea Carter passed away Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 at her home in Wewoka, Oklahoma at the age of 92.
Dorothy was born February 2nd, 1933 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Don Tripp and Ada Avis (Taylor) Tripp. She attended school at Freedom public school. Dorothy was a seamstress at Seam Prufe for 30 years. Dorothy married Andrew Franklin Carter in 1950 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. Dorothy enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, quilting, sewing and especially enjoyed giving a hard time. She loved her kids, grandkids and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Don and Ada Tripp, husband Andrew Carter, son, Eddie Carter, grandson James Bryant, grandson Jason Andrew Carter, siblings; Randoph Tripp, Alice Pollard, Andrew Tripp, Eldon Tripp, Christine Player and Willene Simoneaux. She is survived by her children; Janice Bryant of Wewoka, Donnie Carter and wife Donna of Spaulding, Joetta Wood and Barry of Yeager, Brenda Sneed and husband Rickie of Little, Tony Carter and wife Laura of Stella, 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, siblings; Aline Sexton and husband Carter
Leon of Piedmont, Thurlow Tripp and wife Joan of Norman, Thelma Vaughn of Elk City, David Tripp and wife Debbie of Elk City, and Darlene Kupka and husband Donnie of Agra. Dorothy is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Steven Bryant, Josh Wood, Luke Wood, Bobbie Sneed, Clifton Sneed and Buster Crawford. Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel Carter, Jesse Brown, Adam Thompson, Zachary Carter and Michael Carter.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Nazarene Church in Holdenville with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating.
Interment will follow at Yeager Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
