Ann Spencer
Spencer Seminole resident, Ann Louise Spencer, passed away, Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Seminole, at the age of 51.
Ann, the daughter of Velma (Lawe) Sanapaw, was born May 17, 1973, in Chicago, IL. In the early 1980s, Ann’s family moved to the Menominee Reservation in Wisconsin. She graduated from Menominee Indian High School, in Keshena, WI., with the class of 1993. On May 15, 2012, Ann married Maurice Spencer at the Indian Nations Baptist Church, in Seminole, OK. Ann enjoying cooking, watching cooking shows, watching mob movies, playing with her cat Simba and her dog Chebon. She was a fan of the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls, particularly during the Jordan era, and of the OU Sooners.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Ruth Lawe-Tepiew and grandfather, Francis Tepiew; special sister, Pam; and special nephew, Sean Checora.
Ann is survived by her husband, Maurice; her son, Cruzito Martinez, of Seminole, OK.; brothers and sister-in-law, Roger and Annie Sanapaw, of Keshena, WI, Bernard Sanapaw, of Keshena, WI, and Aaron Weso, of Keshena, WI; sisters, Ruth Sapanaw, of Keshena WI, Brenda Sanapaw, of Keshena, WI, and Loretta Hopinka, of Seminole, OK; nephews, Cruz, James, Aurelio, Alejandro and Donald; and many other family members and friends.
A wake service is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Hitchitee United Methodist Church, in Seminole, OK.
Services will be Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at the Hitchitee United Methodist Church, with Rick Deere and Randy Colbert officiating. Burial will follow at Hitchitee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
