Read moreThe Varnum Lady Whippets won the Area Consolation championship Tuesday night with a 69-43 win against Paden. The team played in the Area Championship on Monday night against the #1 team in class B, Lomega and lost a hardfought game 58-40. Even with the loss to Lomega, the Lady Whippets still had a chance to punch their ticket to the State Tournament in the consolation game that was played last night.
