One of the highlights was attending Project SAFE’s 17th annual Honey Do auction, which raised money for the nonprofit’s emergency shelter and vital services. For 40 years, Project SAFE has provided support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties. Just last year, the shelter served more than 1,700 survivors. Proceeds from the event go directly toward case management, victim advocacy and other crucial programs. Domestic violence remains a crisis in Oklahoma, and collaborating with nonprofits that are doing the hard work on the ground is key to breaking the cycle.
