In addition to hosting my interim study last month, I attended several others to learn more about what my colleagues are working on. Among those was an interesting study on school districts entering into interlocal cooperative agreements. Many senators use their interim studies to learn as much as they can about a specific policy area before filing legislation on that topic. Now, bill filing is just around the corner. Shortly after the election, new senators will be sworn in. Then, bill filing will begin in mid-November and run through the middle of Jan- uary.
