Seminole Art Center Grand Opening Monday, March 3

The Seminole Arts Council invites and encourages everyone in the area, especially those interested in the arts, to attend the Grand Opening of their recently acquired Art Center, conveniently located on the northeast corner of Main and Broadway (Hwy. 270).

SSC to Host Golf Fundraiser Saturday Ahead of Spring Season

The Seminole State College men’s and women’s golf teams are gearing up for an exciting spring season, and the community is invited to support their journey at the SSC Golf Fundraising Tournament on March 1, at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Seminole.

Left, Seminole High School cheerleaders were in force Saturday night at North Rock Creek High School, cheering the crowd on and pumping up Chieftain basketball players in the first round of district playoffs. The girls and boys both lost their games, but they will have another shot at staying in the playoffs this Thursday night. See page 5 of today’s edition for more.

SSC Regents OK Revised Ballpark Lease Agreement

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened to discuss the awarding of tenure to a faculty member, the establishment of a new cross-country program, and a revised lease-purchase agreement for the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex on Feb. 24. The meeting date was rescheduled from Feb. 20 due to inclement weather.
